A purple sweater, designed by the Austrian artist Erwin Wurm, covers the High Altar in St. Stephen’s Cathedral.

The 80-square-meter sweater weights 200 kg and will stay there until Easter.

The sweater is not the only Wurm exhibit in the cathedral. Some of his sculptures can also be seen in the church or in front of the cathedral.

At the Singertor there is a large hot water bottle on its feet, called “Big Mother”.
